check belt tension and blade grip direction....also check for cracked/broke boom support ends. side to side play is normal for stock single thrust bearing grips. The SE tail blade grips were one of the first upgrades on my ZXX.
What type of gyro??

what tail servo are you using? What distance is the ball mounted at on the servo arm?

hmmm....not sure what's goin on then
stock tail blade grips suck...expect 1/4" play at blade tips

Is the tail control rod maybe gummed inside the plastic guide tube????
I had that happen to me before...I cleaned it out with rubbing alcohol and it was smooth as silk

You need a high speed servo on the tail. A standard servo will not be able to keep up with the commands from the gyro. Get a good tail servo like a 9254. Combine that with the 401 and you will have a very good gyro/tail servo setup that should last you a very long time.

tried using digital servo today with futaba ans still same problem
looks like might have a vibration, but cannot seem to pin point it
whats the best way to track it down

What radio are you using?

What is vibrating? Is the fuel foaming? Are the tail fins a blur?

I would start by balancing the main blades and tail blades. Then check the mainshaft, spindle and tail shaft for bends.

getting closer to the fault tried friends tail and problem goes away
so it in the tail
tried his tail blades and holders bearings etc and fault still occurs
so its in tail shaft bearings or pitch slider
his tall shuttle plus so could not try his slider
everthing looks ok no slope in bearings run fine on lathe
any ideas

pitch slider seems free under no load
