If you are on KDEs mailing list, you got or will soon get an email with some pics describing the future release of a new high performance motor series in concert with Castle. I'll guess that their website will have info pretty soon too...

Why does it say "Program Discontinued" at the top of each individual motor page :thinking:thinking:thinking

The link provided by F22 refers to the old KDE motors. The new motors are different models and apparently are not yet on their website.

Make your own :P its a pretty fun process after about 10m or so of wire that you messed up, then becomes un fun after 11m as your just want to be done with it

then when you fire it up and find that it runs very well and cool you are happy. You point to all your friends being like ya I wound that beast, and its more efficient then any thing you can buy (if you do it right)

Hey Guys -

Thanks for the support and I'll be continually updating the information as we get closer to launch. The video was released this afternoon to showcase the performance capability without any gimmicks or Pro-level collective management. The pilots are Rob Clark (Pacific Northwest Team Pilot) and myself (Owner), having fun and drag-racing the motors on a rare, sunshine-filled day in Washington state. I personally prefer to watch general pilot videos like all of us, as the 3D Pros can make nearly anything look good.

More videos will follow with Pro-level pilots showcasing the true performance potential of these motors under the hands of top-level competitors, including Kyle Stacy and Frank Columbia. They haven't been filmed yet, but I'm sure it will be shocking on camera what they can do!

Only thing that makes me nervous is the Castle thing... I suppose we should offer chance on their motors, maybe they'll make those better then the escs which are crap for the most part. When this motor comes out I'll give it a go. :)

I don't know the exact details but hasn't Tim Jones been flying a Castle Vertigo motor in his "Beast" for a few years??

I'll be waiting for the reviews from the local HF guys. I'll make my decision then.

When you say "the esc's which are crap" you are implying that ALL their esc's are crap which is absolutely wrong.

I have an ICE 100 and 50 which have been phenomenal.

better then the escs which are crap for the most part. Just seems like the HV 120 has a lot of issues. But there are a lot of things that can fry an esc, shorted motor, ect,.
Not always the ESC's fault. But it is pretty sad when I trust a chinese made Hobbywing more than a CC Ice 120HV. Prob also made in China

I'm certainly willing to give Patrick and KDE a chance to deliver an awesome motor regardless of who wound the wire! Patrick has already proven to be an innovator committed to giving us good quality parts and after owning one of his other powerhouse KDE motors and having no issues with it, I gotta say "have some faith brother!" :cheers

I have an HV 160 since last year-never had any issues. The only thing I modified where an anti-spark system.

Yes I thing the new KDE Motor is a branded Vertigo as Tim Jones use. The betetr thing at the KDE one is that you kan plug the ESC cables into the motor directly-very nice detail :)
