This post is more a Question for DJ but also anyone else who has a stretched Logo 10. I'm looking at setups and recommendations for battery, motor. Any other recommendations is much appreciated. Thanks folks!

What I have in my Logo 10 Carbon, at the moment, is a Z30A-800 and 14T pinion. I have two AskmanAP PanCam mounts with universal skid fittings. I have one setup for use with my Canon A640, mounted in portrait mode, with a wide-angle lens/adapter, and another with the shock-dampaned camera frame that I use with a Panasonic HDC-SD1 high definition video camera.
I'm using the Logo 14 carbon boom and matching belt, and 550 Rototech blades (because I had them...). For power, I'm planning to use two setups. This is still my favorite helicopter, and I've had one or two of just about everything out there, so I want to be able to also use this for 3D, occasionally, Anyway, for all-out 3D performance I'm using the above setup with a 12s-2200 LiPo setup (with a Phx HV 45. For the AP role, I'll simply switch packs to a 10s-3300, which will drop the 100% headspeed down to the 2000 range, from around the 2400 it runs at on 12s for 3D.
Eventually, I will get a Logo 500, and set it up similarly, and then I will have a backup and can move either around to the camera setups, or use one for 3D, should the fancy strike me.
Antoher good setup for AP, if you want low-cost, is to use a bigger pinion and the a single a123 10-cell pack. This has worked quite well for me, with this same motor/controller.

I use a Z30A-1100 with 18 or 19 tooth pinion on 5s5000 and 5s 6600 Flight Power packs. Blades are TT carbon 550's. I like the TT 550's because they are wide chord and good for lifting weight. I get about 7.5 minutes on this setup on the 5000's and about 9 minutes on the 6600's.
So far this combo has been awesome. I flew it 25 times (7.5 minute flights) back to back yesterday shooting some HD video and it performed flawlessly. Motor never got warmer than warm.
It is by far the best helicopter I have ever had.

With the 10s-3300 setup I should be able to get about 13-15 minutes. It is about the same weight as your 5s-6600 setup but with the higher voltage it is a lot more efficient.
I'm also planning on installing a V-Bar system on this heli, which improves power/efficiency about 15%. The other reason for doing this is that I can enter two complete setups into the V-Bar that can be selectable via the radio. I can have one agressive 3D setup and another that makes the Logo 10 about as stable as it gets, much like a big ship with 800 blades.

Hey this is great news - I am planning on using the a123 pack and was wondering what your recommendation on the bigger pinion would be.
Thanks for all the replies guys.

I'd use a 20T with 500 blades, but a 19T if you use the stretch kit and 550 blades.

Deluxe
WOW!! Thats very impressive that you can get the Deluxe to fly so smooth. I would have thought you would want all the bearings (3D version) instead of the brass bushings.
Are you using the stock swash also with the plastic balls?

all stock except for flybar bearings which were added about 3 months ago.
ohh, I also have thrust bearings in the tail rotor. other than that all stock.

I think once the Logo 500 DX finally hits the street, it will be an even better AP/AV platform. It is already sized for up to 550s, has a huge battery area that can accomdate a 10-cell a123 pack or a big 5000 mAh LiPo setup between the frames, has a driven tail (better for autos...) and can use less expensive full-size servos.

I too think the Logo 500 will be awesome! I'll be putting my Deluxe's up for sale as soon as I have a couple 500's up and running.

Yep, I'm almost positive. I believe the distance between the frames is about 56mm. Ralf even contacted me last year, when they wer finalizing the design, in order to find some eMoli cells to make sure they fit. They are about 5mm longer than the a123s.

This is awesome - I think I'll be holding off to just get one of the new Logo 500's - I'm assuming the DX version would be fine with just some simple upgrades. Or should we all follow DJ's lead and :glasses2: stretch it out to a 800mm :glasses2:

I'm thinking I will get a logo 6003D and run 650 blades on it, as that is what it will take stock.
I'll throw a z50A-600 in it.
Do you guys know that it wil take 10S (2 5s packs?) in the frames?
Thanks.
I'm searching now, but have not found it yet, anyone have part numbers for the stretch parts needed for the logo 10?

Here you go:

There is also a kit (2769) that includes parts 2760, 2762 and 2765.
To keep the weight down, I went with the CF L14 boom and matching belt/rod.

What tail blades are you guys using when you stretch to 550? do you use the stock 72 MM? or are 85MM a better choice?

Of the stretched/AP-functional Logo's out there... what AUW are you running? How much does the complete system weigh ready to fly with battery and camera/video equipment? Please also specify your main blades as well...
I'm not flying a Logo but have a Swift, NHP 540 mains and Askman under giving an AUW of 10lbs 1oz with Sony HC1 video cam attached or 10lbs 4oz with Canon Xti.
Just curious about how it they compare - I don't think weights have been posted.
Thanks all...
