Since I crashed for the second time because of the engine bogging I'm suspecting its either my tuning skills or and old engine. This engine is 3.5 years old.
Everytime when I think its good it just flies normal in the first few figures I'm flying. Then it just bogs.
Would I be better of getting a new engine?

So Laurens, what did you decide to do with your engine?

it needs to be looked at to determine that. Check the compression and leakdown, check the bearings, and have a look at the piston and liner.
If the dollars to rebuild gets near 1/2 replacement, toss it and buy another.
what engine is it BTW?

Its an old OS 50 SXH.
I changed the bearing a few weeks ago, so I hope thats not the cause.
I got lucky and a beginner I'm helping lets me use his R90 for the Dutch3D contest. I'm saving up for either a new engine or a new heli + engine

Did you find out what was wrong with the engine? Was the engine running good before you changed the bearings; i.e.no bogging?
