View Full Version : Rev Max and Futaba 9c

This is mainly a question about my 9c super hence posting in the Futaba section. I'm about to setup a Rev Max with a Futaba 9c Super and have a few questions. I am going to be using remote mode to calibrate and setup the RPM. I'd like it to be used on my Idle up switch eventually but there is one thing i can't figure out how to do.
How do you setup different endpoints for the aux channel (Switch) based on its position? I want to be able to have normal mode - no limit(off), idle 1 - 1600rpm and idle 2 - 1850rpm.
I'm sure it's something i've overlooked in the menus but the instructions don't seem that great for both the revmax or the futaba :(

Hi, you have to assign in your switch menu(don't know the exact name anymore) and assign channel 7(if AUX revmax is in 7) to switch E.
in ATV menu, put endpoints of channel 7 to 95/95
then go to GOV menu, select channel 7(not 8), then go to next page(just scroll down) and select at the bottom Condition(you could also select switch E in stead of COND. but it should be the same), then there will come up above that:
NORM: ...%
idle up 1:...%
idle 2
idle 3
I've put Normal mode to 50%(that dissables it, green light off on the revmax). for idle1/2 green light should go on
idle up 1, move the percentage above 50% and you'll see that when in idle up you're headspeed will be limited(if you're on the ground at 0 pitch in idle 1). set the percentage to your liking of headspeed with a tacho.
Don't forget to calibrate first(Do this according to the manual), and see if everything works(green light goes on if you move stick above 25%throttle), see if failsafe is OK(check it after calibration).
You should be good to go

Hi, i have done all the instruction you have told but when i fly that bird it only half tank the engine was hot and also looks like no power at all compare to when im not using rev max, i put the gov in switch E, Dir- +limit,my rate was up 50%,center 84.5, down 87.0%

At the bottom of the governor menu you have a line saying "SW>X" where X can be "A", "B", "C", "D", "E", "F", "G", "H" or "Cond.". You get there through the up and down arrow keys on the right (beside the "wheel") and you change the activation switch through rolling the wheel.
Hope this helps.

Strange!
For a while I thought that maybe the activation state of the idle-up:s come into play (if they are inhibited or not) but not so, I checked both my TX:es... On my 9CHP (non Super) I have the behavior you describe regardless of if the idle-up:s are enabled or not, on my 9CHP Super I have the "Cond." choice regardless of if the idle-up:s are enabled or not. Wonder why your TX don't!

in your GOV menu you have in fact 2 "pages"
first page says channel 7 of 8 and + etc...
and switch ...
to get to the second page of the menu, you have to scroll down like if you would go from channel selection in the menu to cut-switch, and then you have to puch once more down to scroll. you'll access the second page where it'll say the things I've described.
on the bottom of the second page you have a little line, and you select it and change it to Cond.
the lines above will change to
Norm:...¨%
idle 1:...%
idle 2:...%
etc...
you put the values on all of em to 50% with your normal throttle curves. then you put it in idle 1 for example with 0 pitch and turn up the percentage to 55 % or so. you'll see that your rpm will lower of your motor even though you didn't touch your throttle stick. now set the percent to the headspeed of your liking.
you still have to go in the switch assignment menu(don't know the name anymore) in your radio and select switch E as channel 7, and revmax needs to be plugged into channel 7 of receiver.

You will find the "Condition" menu that is being described in the Governor Menu of the 9C Super. This is in fact on page 1 or 2 in this menu. BUT this will only be shown if you have CUT on channel 8. If you leave your Cut on channel 7, it will not come up for you.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support team at 217-398-8970 opt 2, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Yess, I found it... if that so, do i have to change the setting calibration to ch 8 ? or any explanation on that menu ? Cause i have try to fly the bird yesterday with using switch c with the setting 65-85, and it flies perfect, but when i using the governoor menu to take over rpm, the heli rpm looks coughing... :arggg: TQ
