I'm beginning the build of a Funkey Hughes 500 with Trex 600 Al. I'm working on easy battery access that will allow flight line change out. I have a few ideas but wondered what others have tried. Tks

i velcro mine on eather side of the frames but i'm useing an 8s set up with 2-4s. there is plenty of room to get them out the windows. Now i just need a reliable ESC to keep mine runnin....

Nice end results - any advice before I begin building mine? Very interested in how you munted the Trex to the wood floor and if you had to make a modification to the tail servo mount or tail pushrod. Tks in advance.

actually, that is a raptor 50 in there. I know Dennis Lafond up at DEEE TEE hobbies has put a trex in the same fuse only its an E model. THere is nothing different between D and E models so it should go in the same. Not sure about flipping the Trex but I'm sure you can rig up a servo on top of hte boom to get it down the top to make it easyer to keep everything aligned@!@ I made a bracket that fits on the mechanics of the R 50 so when i take the boom off to get the mechanics out, the servo stays with it. Just ran a big carbon tail control rod with a bent end wire to get out the end of the fuse.

Here is the wood former that i put in the tail to hold the boom. you can see the gap for the tail control rod to fit through.
