Guys

Just finished bolting the top frames to the bottom half of my Spectra, the instructions say that a gap of 20 thou approx between the fan and clutch should be achievable, mine would be closer to double! Are there any adjustments I can do or do I just live with it, if so will it cause any problems?

Thanks

Peter

Peter,
Run the engine and hover the model and then check the gap again. I have found the gap opens a little after the model is flown. No it is not parts actually moving. Just went the engine is running, the fan hub and clutch driver will try to push away from each other. So a truer reading can be taken of the separation between the driver and the fan hub.

when putting the top to the bottom , before installing the bolts , rock the top frame back and forth and actually seat the frames together a little too far so you have to pull the frames apart slightly to put the bolts in . sometimes it's hard to fully seat the clutch to the dampeners and the gap is a little to big.... when running it should seat itself also , too much gap wil prematurely wear out the dampener's...

Take the spark plug out and pull the engine through several times. You will be amazed how it will auto seat down for that perfect fit. Much easier than rocking the top section back and forth.
