When building this part, you put all the stuff on from the bottom, then set a set screw from the top.

My set screw didn't get enough threads to grip before it made contact with the other bolt. I stripped out the threads where the set screw goes... So, no set screw.

Has this happened to other people? Did you replace the part, or just go without the set screw? (I have a good qty of blue thread-lock on the main pivot bolt... and it is tight/snug.)

If you used loctite the set screw is not needed. The set screw is just there for extra safety. It may have happened, but I have never heard of the bell crank pivot bolt coming loose if installed with loctite.

Yes, twice. I sliced about 1mm of the bellcrank bolt so the set screw can go in more than just half a thread.

I just run a longer bolt and put a locknut on top. That baby isn't coming out!

conrod's idea is the big winner.

I just found the perfect longer bolt and put a locknut on top. Done. I'll never use the stock set screw again.

such a simple idea... thanks

The longer bolt works best. The new tail box will be shipped with a longer bolt and nyloc nut from what I have been told.
