how do i hook up the rx for charging the lead from the charger can go on it 2 ways what color goes to black and what one to red?

I suggest you use the charger that came with the radio.. ;)

Or if you bought in in Europe (where no charger is included), buy a wall wart charger, or separate charger cable, for a JR radio. They have the right polarity. I got a charger from Protech for mine.

Spektrum, like JR is reversed when compared to other brands. The center pin of the charge connector is negative and the shell is positive.

Plug the RX in the way that makes the light on the little wall charger come on.

Brown goes to black and red goes to red. On Spektrum and JR receiver and servo connectors brown is negative, red is positive, and orange (yellow?) is signal.
