View Full Version : Heat sink installed caused my cx2 to spin uncontrollably

As the subject lines states, I installed an e-flight heat sink and now my cx2 won't lift off the ground and tries to spin itself into oblivion. The heat sink was REALLY hard to install and I felt it was binding the motors but I installed it anyway...

Since then I have removed the heat sink but still have the spinning problem. The rotates turn freely enough compared to before when it was flying correctly, but still the problem exists.

What gives heli-experts? Did I screw something up by trying to make it better?

Thanks in advance for all your replies trying to help me...

If I had to guess, you plugged the motor in backwards. Spin them up and make sure they are counter rotating against each other, and not rotating in sync. The heatsink should not be hard to install at all. I've done 3 of them for friends and it clips on with no problems as long as you remove one motor to do it.

I added a heatsink to mine a little over a week ago and haven't had any problem. Did you remove the right hand motor as per the instructions prior to slipping the heat sink over the left motor? The mounting instructions can be found on the Eflite website.
