I am wondering if I get the G90, will it work better than the 4-1 buit in Gyro on the Blade CP.

Or are there other/better Gyros that can be used?

Yes, the G90 works better only because it has HH or heading hold. The rate mode will function the same as the 3-1. There are several gyros out there that will work also.

There are other gyros that work better (ex Futaba's GY401), but they're much more expensive, and you won't notice a whole lot of differance, because of the limitations of the Blade itself.

The 'better' gyros are more suited for belt and shaft driven tails with collective blades. The G90 is great for handling the Blade, and will actually have to be turned down in order to avoid tail wag.

The 4 in 1 unit must be disassembled in order to install the HH gyro. I've done this to mine, and have pictures of it in my Gallery. Feel freet to take a look and ask questions as needed.

Hope this helps.

You will still need the 4 in 1.

It still functions as the electronic speed controller (ESC) for both the main and tail motors as well as the battery elimination circuit (BEC)

As for the install, you have to do something called "seperates", and this basically cuts out the built in gyro and built in receiver. (I don't know the exacts. I have the CPP which has a different setup)

Search this E-flite forum for that and it should help get you started.

Thanks slick, that helps a bunch. My apologies to 50. I don't mean to hijack.

I don't know what Seperates are, but what I did, was opened up the case to my 4 in 1. After I did this, I realized there was almost no difference between the 4 in 1 and the 3 in 1 plus receiver.

In the Blade CP, the receiver and the 3 in 1 are seperate, just like the CP Pro, only you have to work a little harder to split them up.

To do this...
-Open up the receiver side of the 4 in 1's case.
-Pull the receiver out. It'll be a little tight, but it'll come.
-You'll notice that the receiver has 2 sets of pins going the wrong way. They are the Throttle and the Rudder channels.
-In order to access these two channels for the 3 in 1, you'll need to purchase 2 Six inch servo extensions.
-Cut the cover off of the female side to expose the pins (it'll look like the picture in my gallery).
-Now simply plug the pins into the 3 in 1.
-Plug the top servo estension coming out of the 3 in 1 into the throttle port on your receiver.
-Plug the bottom plug (rudder) into your HH gyro.
-Take the two wires coming out of the gyro and plug the one with 3 wires into the rudder port, and the single wire into the gyro port (the wire should go in opposite of the grounds[Black/Brown])

This will give you a HH Gyro on your Blade CP without purchasing a new 3 in 1.

I did this while installing the Spectum AR6100, and I'm thinking using the stock receiver will be a pain, because of the reversed plugs, but it'll work the same way.

*Just for clarification, when I'm referring to the 3 in 1, I'm talking about the CP (not Pro's) 4 in 1 minus the receiver.

Yeah you can do that without the 4 in 1, you will just need a 2 in 1 or a seperate esc. The link for that is here

With a 4-in-1 you can have the option to just hack the gyro in between ch 4 and the tail esc or use a separate esc.

The straight hack is ok for the stock brushed system. If you want more tail authority, then using a GWS ICS50 tail esc and either a dual motor tail or DD tail will keep that tail in check. You still use the 4-in-1 for the main brushed motor. This setup also circumvents the stock gyro and mixer avoiding possible crosstalk.
