Has anyone figured out a way to adapt a Phoenix cable or the DSC to work with the Airtronics Stylus?

We re-wired our DSC cable to work with the CSM simulator and dongle years ago, but I'd like to move up to a more current simulator. Phoenix said they don't have an off the shelf solution.

In theory, I've got the two pins identified from the DSC if we had it working with CSM. I've also played with the DSC and ported it into our sound card for ClearView, but the sticks are too irratic. The controls are correct, but they float all over the place.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to give it a shot. Hopefully they are only using two leads like the CSM and I can reconfigure the plug arrangement. I should have the box Friday to play with over the weekend.

Just a quick update if anyone tries using a Stylus with the Phoenix simulator. It works great! Before installing the software, I updated our nVidia drivers and updated to DirectX 9.0c. The install was clean and I didn't present any errors or problems.

I had to modify the extra adapter cable that came with the dongle to work with our Stylus DSC cable. I clipped the end of the adapter, stripped the wires and soldered the signal and ground wires. Once we fired up the simulator, I found that we needed to be running in PPM-INV mode, but other than that, the simulator calibrated to the radio and I'm flying.

I've downloaded the TRex model and WOW is that thing sensitive! I need to dial down my throws and smooth out some curves, but it's up and running...

If anyone needs more details on the cable mod or wiring, drop me a line. I haven't talked to many people still running the Stylus so I won't bore everyone else with the details.
