It wont be used for 3D or anything crazy. Just to mess around with. And good online sites with decent prices? I might get 2 of them.

Good Lipolys cost more for a reason. ;)
You could look for used packs too.

I have two of these and two more on the way. They are out of stock but they come in quickly. Works for me.

I am a Dn power rep and I have the 20C 2150 line. I also offer free shipping to helifreak members. All you have to do is put "freak" in the notes section of the check out and I refund the $5 shipping charge at time of shipping (usually same day)

Jermo, have you tried DN? How does that compare to the ones that UnitedHobbies sell? It it worth saving 14$ ?

I can't afford the DN. I've not seen where I can get them for $14 cheaper, The Hextronix are 3C 2200 20C-30C. The pair I recieved were actually 2250mAh. I'd love to try something different to compare but I'm doing good to afford what I have. A friend of mine that I've recently started flying with uses ? thunder ? batteries. He saw mine and what I'm doing and got interested quick after hearing the price.
I have a sneaky suspicion that there aren't too many different places these batteries are made and folks just slap a lable on em and double the price. I could be wrong.

Thanks. RCEpower has a pair of DN for 90$ shipped and UnitedHobby has it for $76 shipped for a pair of Hextonix. Thats where i got my 14$ difference.

tempting to try. 100mAh less. I can't find the specs on the batteries. Anyone know where it is? ie...peak discharge..etc... for a $14 difference to get them locally it might be worth it depending on how much shipping is.

edit: bah...just ordered 2 more Hextronix packs. They've done well for me and I don't mind waiting a bit for them to come in. I'll have 6 total packs so I figured 6 x $14 = $84 savings (bascially another 2 batteries free or 8 packs for what 6 of the DN would have cost).
I guess about the only thing that will make me go to a more expensive battery or different brand is if I can tell a difference.

Jermo, I have 4 HXT 1700mah 20C~30C packs. Less than 20 cycles on them and ALL of them have started to puff. How many cycles do you have on yours? I wonder if I just exceeded its C ratings. But 34A~41A is plenty, since my DN power 15c packs are only 32A and they didn't puff with over 50 cycles on them.

I fly just about every day 2packs a day. Some days more (especially weekends..I got 6 packs in at the heli fly in 2 weeks ago). I have 2 batteries and have been flying since at least 1Feb so each battery probably has 40~60 charges on it. I noted puffyness on one pack after fighting wind to get my rexxie back (about 100' up in the big wind :WOW ), took full throttle (100%) at full pitch (11 degrees) and nose down to get her back and down into the calmer wind. Pack was hotter than normal. Still only took about 1740mAh back to charge. Since then I've not noted any drop in performance or flight time.
When I say "puffy" it's more that the covering moves when I touch it.. no resistance or solidness so I'm guessing the pack isn't actually "puffed" (both are the same size). I have two new packs due any day so I can compare new to older packs.
I run a lipo monitor for voltage in addition to the ESC monitor and a flight timer built into my radio. Have you had your packs below 3v/cell and do you balance? I balance every charge with a cheap blinky balancer and have only had the cells at or near 3v per cell that one time with the wind (landed and one cell read 2.9v with the other two blinking between 2.9 and 3.0)

Actually, I was just started to fly those packs because I was breaking them in the first 10cycles. Just basic hovering and balance charged on cellpro 4S. They never saw anything below 3.6v even. The puffing is the same as you described, they are slightly bulged, I can only tell if I press on it. But it's the beginning of a dying lipo from experience. I guess I'll just keep flying them like this til they die. Thanks for the report Jermo.

I think that's just the covering expanding due to heat off the pack :dontknow ..for battery bulging i'm not used to being able to press on it like monocoat on a wing on a hot summer's day. IF/When my packs die I'll holle here. I only expect to get 90~100 cycles max from them.
