View Full Version : Blade vs CP2
Looking to buy an inexpensive 3D heli to get 'up-side-down' with. Giving these two serious though.
I have a fixed pitch Honeybee and love it. Very durable and can take a crash.
Qualities I am looking for:
inexpensive.
Able to take a decent crash without costing 'tons' of money and time to fix.
Responsive and stable.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

The "inexpensive" and "stable" parts are going to work against each other.
I still am flying my Blade CP Pro, but it is anything but stable. Even with flat bottom blades and some other mods that I did JUST to tame it a bit.
But to get an aerobatic/3D capable heli, that's somewhat stable, I think you're gonna need to "go up" to something in the 450 class. Like a TRex 450 or maybe the HDX 450.
Good luck! :D
I have an Esky CP2 and it was about $130 and is basically a duplicate of the BCPP less $120. So that money went to buy a lot of extra parts in my book. The only problem was I had the "sticky collective" issue-which was fixed with simple reversing of washers. This is my 1st CP heli and it is very twitchy-but 100 times more fun than my G3.5 new sim that is collecting dust! :)

The Blade CP handles differently from the CP2. The CP2 is best compared with the Blade CP Pro. On the twitchy scale where 1 is least and 3 is most, the Blade would be 1, CP would be a 2, and the Pro a 3.
A stable is heli is easy to learn on. But as your skills improve , it will feel sluggish. It takes much real estate to make a turn. Unlike the CP2 and Pro, they feel twitchy with the stock tx, but they are very agile for intermediate flyers. They flip better too.
