No more 3-1 !!!

Finaly got my CPP to work without the 3-1 !! Shaved almost 16 grams off including the old Y adapter and power leads. I dont know how much the pheonix 10 weighs but 15.8g's is 15.8g's :D

Does the Phoenix have a BEC in it? Or is your other ESC doing it?

You know, that's a good question. I believe they both do? I'm using the Main BL motor ESC (Thunderbird 18). I know the Pheonix does but I have that disabled at the Gryo plug. To be honest, all I know is that I have BL main and tail without the 3-1. I disabled (unplugged) the red wire on the pheonix at the plug that goes into the gyro. I reset the red wire that the e-flite manaul says to disable at the 4-1 so it would power the 4-1? Sorry about really not giving you an answer. I do know it works. If I had a video camera I'd take a vid for ya. All I have is a digital cam that's video quality is less than crappy. I'll post a diagram so you cansee what I did maybe it will help?

Looks like I'll have to get a different ESC for the main though. I got the eflite one and it does NOT hav a BEC... :roll:

I sent a PM with a diagram of what i did . Here's a link that I got from a kind soul on Helifreak that helped alot. I dont think its specific for a BL tail but its good info non the less.

What do you guys I want, a full separates setup or partial 4-in-1 hack?

Buzzkill managed to completely remove his 3 in 1.

I'm going to try the same thing with my Compy franken-chpopper:

AR6100
Phoenix 10 ESC for tail motor
Phoenix 25 ESC for main motor (I also have an E-flite one)
Park 370 Brushless for main
Feigao brushless for tail motor
G90 HH gyro
Use the Phoenix 25 as my BEC

I havent had any problems without the 3-1, in fact it would seem that I get less glitching.
