For those of you that have installed the MH Autorotation hub in your CP/CPP what are some of the differances you have noticed in your flight? I installed one on my CPP last night and it feels differant but I can't quite place my finger on what is differant about it.

For me there wasnt a lot of difference in performance other than the blades dont stop as quick as they used too lol. I'm toonew to actualy try autorotation. I think it's quieter than the stock and a little smoother. I do like being able to change out the mainshaft without disasembling the heli.

I from what I've heard, an autorotation is not really possible with a heli the size of a Blade.
I'd love someone to follow up on this, because I'm not 100% sure.

I have a feeling it would be painful at best. I think it would be more crash mitigation than actual full "safe" autoing.
Another big issue is probably the fact that the tail isn't linked to the main rotor, so you'd need a LOT of forward speed to keep it from spinning too wildly when you give up collective.
BTW, I have the gear installed in a frankenchopper, but I'm still 2 weeks or so from getting it airborn.

From what I heard, the blades and heli are too small to maintain headspeed for an auto.

yeah I think the actual autorotation part of the gear is more-or-less usless. My Heli seems to be a little bit smoother.

How does the main shaft hold up compared to the OEM shaft? It makes more sense to keep buying the OEM part for 5.99 compared to the 7.99 for the MicroHeli shaft unless its true with what they claim in that "it runs true, and the shaft is stronger than Eflite's"

It doesnt seem any better to me other than I can replace it without totaly taking the thing apart.

Heck the stock CP can be autoed somewhat, as long as your 3 feet or less from soft ground when you do it, spins a bit. The autohub probably adds another foot or two to that.

well that sucks, i ordered the auto main gear and shaft from mhalong with another main shaft. cuz well i thought they would be stronger.

Autorotation is possible with this size heli.
On the left side of the screen, second one down, under free videos, look for piccolo cp autorotating. It looks like it is about the same size.

I got a ejector pin from Rebuild this weekend. I cut it down tosize dremeled flats for instalation. I havent had a chance to run it yet but its the straightestshaftI've installed by far. I've replaced at least 12 main shafts (Stock and Microheli) and they all had a slight wobble. Not a bad wobble but some. The ejector pin, when spun has ZERO wobble in the head. Havent been able to crash yet lol but I'll let you know as soon as I do. I hope its a while tho
