I'm building a Lepton size heli and wondering which size and brand speed controller should I use for it? I'll be running 4s 3700 with Hyperion HP-Z3025-10. How much current will it pull? Can I get away with 40-50A or do I need 80A?

Also which brand besides Kontronic that has good govener mode? Is Hyperion ESC any good?

Kevin... the Align 75 is what I have been using and works GREAT!

ABOUT TIME you got that heli going :)

Bob, It's a "Lepton SIZE" not a Lepton... It uses a lot of HDX/3DX parts but my own frame. The Lepton I orginally had, now belongs to J.

So it's a "bastard" heli ;)

Still 3025-10 runs great on 4S with the Align 75.... Remember lower volts means higher current so dont go too low on the ESC dude ;)

I like to call it "custom" or "upgraded" or "pimped" ;)

I definitely like Jazz ESC with that set-up - yes, it's expensive but absolutely nice. The Jazz 55 for those who have kind servos and the 80 for those who have better ones ...

The Jeti Spin 55 or 66 are great ESC's and are very easy to program
with the Jeti Spin-Box. I used a Jeti Spin 66 on my Lepton EX and it
worked flawlessly.
