Replacing the main shaft bearings with pn PV0093 on my R50. Who knows what the smaller of the three bearings is?

Thanks,

Upper start shaft bearing I believe.

That is it.
And as long as the frames are apart I always replace the bearing on the top of the pinion to.

I had a separate set of start shaft bearings. It is not the upper bearing. Perhaps the lower? I had previously replace it but can't remember if the ID is larger than the upper bearing. So perhaps it is the lower start shaft bearing. I can't imagine why they'd give you one and not the other. :dontknow

So that you can buy another pack of bearings. :arggg:

The next time I have to split the frames on my Raptor I'm installing the metal posts and metal screws. It'll make me feel better knowing there's some metal holding the heli together.

Because you usually break both main shaft bearings, but only one starter shaft bearing.

I suppose you're right on that account. The lower start shaft would be more likely to be damaged whereas the upper probably sees minimal load in comparison.

After getting my clutch out, I found the bearing had nearly worn through the pinion. Suppose this could be the cause of my newfound glitches?
Hope so, this 50 has been very good to me to this point and with all the extra electronics in the flybarless setup, glitches are a real problem.

The package from Thunder Tiger with the three bearings comes with two main shaft bearings and one pinion bearing. Hope this helps.

Locktite the inner race to the pinion and yes that would cause glitching.

The inner race of the bearing is alot harder than the pinion. I use green locktite there.

Engine's rebuilt now...was seeming a bit weak. New bearing all round. New pinion locktite applied as suggested...hope that does it. I'm inclined to think this was the glitch generator. It was the only clear problem with a heli that was otherwise performing well.

Now if only the weather would perform well
