I'm continuing playing around with A123 8S on my 2nd T600. There is a definite liveliness compared to 6S LiPo and I'm quite happy with 5 mins at 75% idle up. The 8S pack is also lighter @ 615g compared to 750g of the stock Align Lipo pack.

Problem is at this ESC setting the HS is 2400 for a current draw of 25A - I don't know of a 9T pinion so should I consider getting a 1300kV motor maybe a Medusa MR-036-050-1300-5. Heli has Align blades and an eWatts HV80 ESC or maybe get an ESC with a governor ?

Any thoughts gratefully received

eWatts 85HV? Where can info be had on that ESC?
I have some 10S A123 packs I need to get ready for charging and try on my 600.
I'm just wondering if the stock motor and CC 85HV will work ok on 10S to 15S A123 cells.

I think the kV of the stock motor too high for 10S - 8S seems to be pushing it, hence my question about alternative motors. The CC 85 would obviously work fine with that but I thought it too expensive for my experimenting. The EW ESC http://www.wattsuprc.com.au/product_detail.asp?pid=EW-HV80A seems to work OK, has nice big heat sink and you can get a small card programmer for ~$10 which makes setting up a cinch - jury still out on its longevity as I've only had it running a few weeks.
