Tallahassee Springtime Helicopter Clinic
April 16-17, 2005
Tallahassee, Florida
Sponsored by the Seminole R/C Club
This clinic is designed to provide assistance and encouragement to pilots of radio controlled helicopters that may have an interest in competition or who want to make their model fly as good as it can. Technical assistance with all aspects of helicopter and radio setup will be available from some of the hobby’s top contest pilots.
The schedule of maneuvers for FAI and AMA Classes I, II, and III will be demonstrated. Pilots will have an opportunity to fly the maneuvers and have them critiqued by experienced contest pilots. There will also be demonstrations (flying and static display) of scale model helicopters
If you have an interest in competition, need assistance with setting up your model or radio for either Sport Flying or Competition, or just want to have some FUN, come join members of Tallahassee’s Seminole Radio Control Club for this event.

Field is just off US 27 south about 4 miles from Tallahassee, next to the Leon County Landfill and Capital Heights Baptist Church. Look for the sign: Seminole Field.
The hotels are arranged by distance from our field. If you stay off any of the I-10 exits (199 or 203), there is a better way to get to the field than following 27. Go I-10 EAST to the US 90 east exit (I think it is 209 but I could be wrong), exit on second ramp and go east toward Monticello. Go to the first light, Chaires Crossroad, and turn right (South) go about 5 miles across country, crossing Buck Lake Rd (stop sign) and a RR track. Go straight from RR to the next light. This is US 27 (Apalachee Pkwy) Turn Right (west) and go about 2 miles. You will pass the entrance to the Leon County Landfill on the right. About 300 yds past that, again on the right, is the entrance to our field with a big sign that says Seminole Field. It is right before Capital Heights Baptist Church which is located immediately after our gate. Turn right and follow the road about 1/2 mile to our field. Road is gravel turning into sand but is passible all the time.
If you stay on 27 South, head out of town (southeast) go about 4 miles. When you see Williams road on the right, look left for the church and our sign.
Hope to see you.
Any questions, feel free to pm me.

Looking forward to coming down...
Is there a suitable place there (where it won't get run over) to pitch a tent?
Yes, tents are welcome. We have a fence that separates the parking lot from the pits and there is plenty of room to put a sunshade.

Looks like I will be comeing but without a heli. Long story but for those wondering:
Had a Mechanical failure, something happened and my Evo 50 with BRAND NEW SAB 600 $100 dollar blades landed in the woods beside my house (no i wasnt flying over the trees on purpose). I have looked for 4 days now (it went in monday) and I havent found anything and ive had freinds and other people come over to help me look for it and im about 99% sure my Neighbor stole it because he takes stuff all the time.
So looks like I wont have my chopper unless a miracle happens. :(
Dang, Dude! That's rough! Keep looking, maybe it's still in a tree and will blow down so you can find it. Hope so anyway.
Y'all pray for good weather.

Sorry to hear that sceadu50dude. I would say look up, look way up in those trees. To lose a model really stinks, especially if somebody helped. :(
