I just got done converting one of the Stratus to an E-Stratus. It will be powered by 2 Trex600 packs (TP 6s 5000). CC HV110. I currently have V 710mm but will probably go to v 690mm or Radix 690 SB.
The motor is Actro 32-3 at 10:1 ratio

I have purchased the motor plate from cgbole here and RR.

I put the batt packs in the engine bay compared to cgbole's split setup.

man watch it very closely. i had a melt down last week. the first time around on 12s we had no problems... after we switched out one HV 85 for a second one i ended up frying a motor. 11s was fine. but 12s on the second controller didn't fare too well. if you look back through the videos i posted most were on 12s and we had vertually no heat problems how ever after a crash the sp cont would no arm so when i remove it from the frames the heat sink came off in my hand. so after a weekend of running a schulze 32.55 i put another HV 85 on it and when we put 12s on it the gov was surging and the heli went into a radio lock out. well it hit the dirt and burned the motor up. like i said everything was fine up to 12s. i hope it was just a bad controller but don't know yet.

Oh! Sorry to hear that. I guess that is why you are looking for an actro motor. Did you get my pm about elevating the plate?
I was going to put hv85 but went with hv110 as 110 was already soldered on and hv85 was new.
Was your hv85 setup identical?

well i still don't know exactly what happened. could have been any number of things. just don't want to see anyone else roast one.
but yeah the 85 is rated up to 12s right?

Dog,
Actually, Zak is using the HV85 on 12S - just like several others. We are keeping a close eye on the sytem and will report to all if there are any issues.

I just got back from testing the E-Stratus. It was set to Gov-Hi (will change to Gov-Low) with throttle curve at 50% flat. The head speed was 2200. With 2 TP 5000 Trex600 packs, 6 solid flights.
With 4 TP 5000 packs, we were done in 12min. I think we need 4 sets or 8 packs.
The sky was gray so the visibility was bad. But, the flight was simply awesome and power was oozing out of the heli.

What is your HV85 setting? Did it settle on Gov-low? I will be getting 5s 5000 pack next week from TP to test 11s setup. This will allow one TP 1010 charger to charge the set (6s + 5s) in one shot as compared to needing two tp1010 for charging 1/2 of the set currently.

hey , cool , I bet your rocking , is Justin flying it ? I have my old Fury I was thinking about slapping this motor mount on , well I might have to do a few more mods to it , right now I have a airplane version actro 32-4 on 14s , ran good 3 years ago , been a hanger queen for sometime, also , my setting on my Razor are now at 41 with high gov , same setting as you have , this is on my 14mz , crank it down to there and shoot for a 1900 HS , I bet you will see a 6 1/2 min flight time and use up about 70% of the juice

Justin is our official test pilot now. I made it roll and it looked good but Justin was spanking it on our 3rd test flight.
I am thinking of going from 710 vblade to 690 vblade or 690 radix stick banger to reduce the load and increase the pop.

yeh , with that gear ratio , you looking at a max wide open 2600 at a hover with the packs straight off the charger, yep , 11s time forsure, or belt drive like the IonX 2
cgbole

red i think it was at 50% in 1 and 60% in 2.
i'm not plugging the speed controller into anything till castle does something to it first. it might work fine on 11s still but it's got to get a clean bill of health from castle first. then we can start with different motors. next a 1915 1.5y, then a Zpower Z70.
