Its made of aircraft structural foam laminated with 1/32 aluminium (I think, I'm not an A&P) and fiberglass. The lower support is covered with fiberglass and as you can see just extruded aluminum angle for mounting. It wieghs exactly what the CF one does, right at 1 pound.

My objective was to stiffen that carbon on the butterfly and suspend the camera from the vibe isolators all of which I accomplished so far. Its so stiff you can shake the whole heli around just hanging on to the tail and the mount and not so much as a sign of flex. Going for the same set up that the new turbine Observer uses. The nicest feature is I havent ruined the original set up, it could be bolted back on in a few minutes. you would just need a winch to get the silicone at every interface to let go and it would just have a few extra holes is all. :D

I wil post some video as soon as I get it. Probably wont be for a week or so.

Looks like hell now but I'm thinking of polishing the aluminium and painting the rest after I do some cosmetics.

What do you think?

Looks good Ben. I will be interested to hear what kind of video you can get from it after you test it.
