Found a issue with the swashplate.
The screws (inner ball-links) are about 0.5mm too long, so they are actually hitting the plastic and making the swashplate "ball" bind.
Easy fix by grinding off a litte on the ball-link-screws, but worth taking a look at since my swash was binding pretty bad with them at fully length.
I dont know if this issue is with "stock" items or only when you buy new ball-links separatly, its an issue never the less.
I had 3 old swashplates at home, same thing on all of them.
Easy to check, feel how tight the swash is moving (tilting) and then loosen the four screws (two if you are using VStabi), if it moves easier, grind away :)

Good catch Fredrik! I never have noticed this before. I actually just replaced my one swash in my L14 due to the balck delrin coming up and floating and yes the ball was "mega" stiff. I backed off the balls as you mentioned and it definetely freed up the ball. Now I wonder if that continued pressre is what could have forced the black delrin ring upwards and out of whack? Certainly is possible!
On another note, I noticed my new swash from Mikado is different. It now has a brass ring with a cork type material imbedded around it and then a SS ring. A "much" better design than the ol black delrin ring one for certain. And guess what those balls on it were too long to, I shaved them each about 1mm and no issue now for sure. Man I am glad you shared this with us Fredrik, this was a very good catch man!
All you Mikado freeks be sure to check this out, only takes a second! :D
BTW Fredrik, I hope you do not mind but I made this a sticky as well as I feel this is a very important find, thank you!
Thanks again Mr. Mel! :glasses2:

Are you talking about the Aluminium one? Or the plactic one? Or both?

Talking specifically about the length of the inner ball links that bolt into the middle disc of swash.

It was on the Alu swashplate in my case.

I have noticed that the swash gets really stiff when its cold outside but its ok when warmer outside. Next time I will try loosen up the screws to see if they are causing the stiffness (I bet it is). Flying during this winter has made the black delrin ring come up on two of my swashes too.
Glad you finally solved this mystery Fredrik :)

Mine seemed a little stiff also. I have a MicroHeli swash that's very smooth but I haven't tried it yet.

Grinded down the screws on three of my swashes yesterday and didnt notice any difference in stiffness afterwards.
They do get stiff after some flights and needs a drop of oil to free up. If you fly a Vbar logo and the head feels soft (nods in harder manouvres) it might be that the swash is stiff :)

I just realized mine is tighter than an I don't know what.
I removed the ball links and no diff at all.
Lubed the heck out of it and no diff at all.
I wonder if the ball links mared up the black ring from being too long, and now even with them removed, there is still way to much friction in tilting the swash?
Any thoughts?
Can the swash be taken apart?

Well, I finally got the correct balls for the MicroHeli swash and got it installed. I have to say, I will never use the Mikado swash again. You wouldn't believe how smooth this thing is. Man, what a world of difference.

Scott,
Is this what you're using?

Yep. And it's $20-$30 cheaper than stock.

Yeah, I noticed that. Did you buy it from micro-heli or somewhere else?

Direct from MH which is in Taiwan which takes about a week for it to show up. It showed up with the 90° swash balls installed which are shorter so they sent me an extra set of the 120° balls (longer ones).
I didn't think it would be much different but when I installed it, it felt like silk. Extremely smooth.

There are two versions of that swash floating around the market, one with a single bearing and one (more expensive)with double bearings. Which one do you have? I was thinking about up-grading the swash on mine but I wasn't sure about MH parts.
I've talked to Quick UK about a Logo swash and they are willing to build a custom one from the Raptor CCPM/Xero-G 120 degree RC-07 swash but it will be nearly twice as expensive when you factor in shipping and such.

I got the one bearing version. Really no reason for the 2 bearing version IMHO. I've used MH parts for a long time and the quality is extremely good on everything I have used.
I only purchased the swash because I had a ball break off in the stock swash (my fault). I was able to repair it but only after I ordered the MH swash. For me, it's a big chunk of change when you already have a working swash, but if you need one or just want extremely silky smooth movement, I would recommend the MH swash.

Can you eloborate on why a dual bearing swash isn't necessary? To my thinking, a bearing is always better than a bushing, but I've been wrong before. It's a bit more money for the dual bearing version.
