Raja,
I got four flights in today with winds gusting over 20MPH. I finally got the engine dialed in (I think). I have a question. After the four flights I put my buddies volt meter and load tester on my RX. Without a load the voltage was 5.47. With a 1AMP load the voltage dropped to 4.87. I have a 4500MA NIMH battery pack. Does this sound right? If I put it on my charger at home, the pack gets charged up to 6.11 volts.
I thought I remembered somewhere that the output of the generator was somewhere near 5.4 volts. Does all sound well? :dontknow

Thats sounds about right. Actually my packs seem to hover around the 5.1v +/- 0.1v mark unloaded. I have a 2200 mah NiMH battery in my helis. Less weight than the 4400 you have and maybe you can save the 4400 for a non generator powered model and use a smaller pack for the heli with the generator but that is totally up to you as its not a problem using the 4400 -- I just feel its wasted capacity that's all.
Just to give you an idea I bought my packs at the WRAM show. Charged them once overnight and since then put around a dozen flights on them and they read in the above range. They will never charge fully to 6.1v as the generator voltage only goes to 5.4v. Your charger actually puts in over 6v into the pack during the charge to get the cell voltage to climb that high. Nevertheless have no worries, the voltage you see is absolutely normal for the design of the system.
Anyway fly it some more and you will get a sense of where your pack will be at. You will find that you can fly all day without much change in the pack voltage. Should settle around a voltage and stay there pretty much. The best part is, you can now fly all day long and just make all the power to fly with instead of use it out of the battery!

Raja,
Thanks, I just wanted to be sure. I use the 4500 MAH packs for weight in the nose. The Bergen EB is tail heavy and you have to add some balast.
