I really like my DX7 exept for the left gimbal. It feels "ratchety" on up/down stick movement. Its like the stick is to tight, but fine left/right. If I take the back off and adjust the spring tension...will this issue go away? Is there a bearing upgrade to get rid of this issue? Please help!

You must have the airplane version of the radio. The throttle is ratcheted instead of being smooth for helis. You can open the radio up and put a piece of fuel tubing on the tensioning stick to smooth it out. You can also use some white lithium grease to lube it up while you doing that.

I do not have the plane version. It "feels" ratchety but its not. I used that word only because thats the "feel" of the stick when moving it very slow. If I move it at a normal or a little faster, its smooth. The gimbal seems tight and thats gives it that feel.

You can open up the radio and adjust the tension of the bar, or add more white lithium grease.

try adding some heat shrinking tube and grease to the tension bar. If that doesn't work, you can file down the notches on the gimbal.

I will take it apart and post what I find and what I did to fix it. Thx all!
