What is the most common way to setup your count down timer? I like the stick switch setup, but it goes off at full negative pitch.

Looking for suggestions.

What kind of helicopter, electric or internal combustion?

On my electric TRex, I have the timer set so that it starts when I bottom out the throttle stick, stops when I use the otherwise useless engine cutoff toggle, and resets when I press the center CD dial. That allows me to plug in the heli battery with about 1/3rd throttle on the stick, activate the speed controller and timer when ready for takeoff and ultimately stop the timer after landing by using the nitro-heli familiar spring-toggle engine cut switch.

I use my throttle stick in the full down postition to stop it. You should not spend enough time at full negative pitch to affect the timer.

Hey Steve, how are things? I used to think the same thing but then started running out of fuel before the timer would chime a warning. I had been practicing inverted steep turns and it screwed up the timer enough to become a problem.

Speaking of timers, is it just me or are the one-minute beeps nearly unnoticeable during flights? I wish there was a way to bump up the volume of just those single beeps or else make them double or triple beeps. The end of time chime is not a problem even though it is set to the same volume level but sometimes it comes as a surprise due to some un-noticed interval beeps. For me, this would be a good candidate for a future software update.

Oh heck, I just realized why my timer might be more prone to full negative stoppage than for others. I'm only using a pitch range of +9 to -9 with a moderate headspeed. :?

That would explain it. Things are good Mike. I can never remember to set a time so the throttle stick is the only option for me. Crank the HS and pitch up/
