View Full Version : Suggested multiplayer solution
Since Phoenix can work over a lan, could there be the possibility of using something like Hamachi to make it playable over the internet?
http://www.hamachi.cc/
I set up a network named Phoenix RC Sim, password is helifreak.
right click on the network name to open a chat window to let me know when you join.
I will try and keep an eye on it to see if someone joins up, we can give it a try.

Is it gonna be as easy to setup as some multiplayer FPS games are?

yes...
no need to know IP addresses.
theres a central server that deals with the connections. It takes no part in the actual session its effectively an address book.
its just a couple of mouse clicks. no forwarding ports from your router etc.

Kinda like the tracker in a bittorrent?
It seems that its going to be kinda like this:
click on multiplayer > wait for rc sessions to show > pick one rc session (thats not filled) > start up

Multiplayer is out in beta. See Phoenix website under downloads. 1.03E
Can anyone help me out?
Im on a broadband connection (ADSL), 4 computers in my house connects to the internet through a switch (hub), the internet connection is connected directly to the switch. Ive tryed deactivating my windows-firewall and my antivirus.
I can see the sessions in Phoenix, I can host a session. But when i try to join a session, Phoenix says "unable to connect to the server, please try again later"
Ive upgraded to 1.03f already..
