By eyeballing it, it looks like I should mount the muffler in the down position. Even so, it's rather close to the skids. I wonder if the heat from the muffler will melt the skids. Any problem with that?

Also, the header block just barely leaves enough room to swing the throttle arm. Is this common?

Mark I mount my adapter with the pressure tap facing forward and have no trouble with clearances.This leaves plenty of room between the MP2 and the skids..I have run both OS and YS in this configuration.Yes what you are seeing is normal..Just make sure that your adapter and Pipe stay tight.So check them often..Enjoy :glasses2:
