Here is simple tool to leveling your "OEM" Raptor 30/50 swashplate. It requires no levels.

Step 1:
With the "RADIO OFF" just place the Swashplate Leveling Tool between the top of the mainshaft collar and the bottom of the swashplate. Push down on the swashplate and it will automatically level the swashplate. Then check the paddles with appropriate paddle alignment gauge to ensure that the swashplate and the paddles are in proper alignment.

Step 2:
REMOVE the Swashplate Leveling Tool and turn on the radio and advance the collective to the full open position to allow the Swashplate Leveling Tool to be inserted between the mainshaft collar and the bottom of the swashplate. Remove the links to both the for and aft and the right and left cyclic controls. SLOWLY move the collective downward until the bottom of the swashplate just touches the Swashplate Leveling Tool (without binding). Make sure all the trims are neutral on both the for and aft and right and left cyclic controls. Next adjust all the removed links so that the Swashplate Leveling Tool and the swashplate are properly aligned. Reconnect all the links and make sure the alignment is still square with the Swashplate Alignment Tool. P.S. Make sure that the trims are set to neutral in all flight modes. Your swashplate and flybar paddles are now properly aligned.

Step 3:
Remove tool prior to flight.

Just something I thought you might enjoy.

The first (3) Raptor 30/50 Heli-Freaks "sending me a PM requesting a swashplate leveling tool" running the OEM swashplate and locking collar that live in the lower 48 (USA) are eligible for a "Free Tool". To be eligible for your "Free Tool". Drop me a PM.

Good Luck. I will announce the winners.

Just another advantage to being a Heli-Freak.

:D

Rob,

Remember you are the custodian. These little babies have a way of disappearing.

Sometimes it is hard to get them back once someone uses it. :hammer

Enjoy! :cheers

Yes, I know it is nice to be a winner.

All the Heli-Freaks are winners in my book. A nice site with some really great Heli Modelers that are interested in having FUN.

Just a little something that I thought my Heli-Freak Friends might enjoy.

Hey folks,

John Clark, Helicopter John, is a standup guy. I also got my swashplate leveling tool today and it is great. I can see this will be a valuable tool in my flight box. I am also going to figure a way to engrave my initials in it, so it "won't get lost"?? !!! hehehehee

Thanks John for the neat give away !

Thanks guys for the favorable comments.

Most everyone that sees this tool in action wants one.

I also made one for my friend for his RobBe Machines. I made it a little different in that I put a bevel on the bottom edge so that it rests on the inner race of the bearing instead of the frames which can be unlevel.

The initial engraving is a good idea.

This is a tool that everyone wants to borrow.

You will find it develops new friendships you never knew you had.

Enjoy them and share them with your close friends.

A piggy back on Helicopter John's step 2,

Make sure the servo arms are 90 degrees to the servo body. Rotate the arms to find the best spline position, then use the sub trim function to dial it in.

Bushy made me one similar, only it press fits to the main mast. Thanks Bushy.

Hey John,

I still use my swashplate tool every time I set up a heli. This is a first class item to have in your toolbox. Thanks again for the give-a-way last year !!!!! :noteworthy

Hey everyone, if you get one of these HelicopterJohn Swashplate Leveling Tools, be sure to mark your name on it...... it is an item that would "walk-away" very easily !

How much can you sell them for John?

Hotshot Charlie

Step 2:
REMOVE the Swashplate Leveling Tool
Yep, One thing to watch, when using the tool..... don't do like I did....... I cut my radio on and advanced the collective...... stripped the gears on my collective servo. Just a dumb, "I can't believe I just did that" type of mistake !!!
