white film on lipo

Hi!

This is a mega power lipo 3s 2100mah 15c batterie.I have a max of 10 flight on this thing and i just noticed one of them have a white film on it.Im not sue if its from the batterie itself or something went on it.

Any ideas on this?What should i do?

Is it like a powder residue or more like a liquid residue? If the former, could it be gear dust from your main gear (is it white?)? When I install a new gear it usually takes a flight or two to wear in. I'll get a powdery residue on my frames around the gear.

I just looked around the frame and gear(I have the blue one) and there is nothing.Could it be tha the battery leaked?

If lithium is burned it'll react with oxygen to form lithium oxide which is a white substance. I suppose that's what it could be, but I don't know enough about the chemistry of these cells to say that with any certainty.

If you do, charge outdoors and watch it closely.

Thanks for the tip.I will do it outside.If It does end up to charge good and discharge good should i keep flying that batterie or just take up the loss and just buy another one?

Is the film under the heat shrink or on top?

I recently left a TP GenII pack connected overnight and ran it low. I was trying to binrg it back when I noticed the center cell has a white film under the clear film on the cell. I tossed the pack.

It was only on the top of the packaging..I charged it but havent ran it yet...i will today

No it doesnt but i found out what happened.

In my align heli case,one of my foam layers what unglued so i glued it back with CA.I noticed that my pitch gauge was all white too..thats when i realized that my batterie what close to it... Banging Head
