More 2.4GHz breakthroughs from Futaba!

If it’s from Futaba, you know it’s done right — the first time! 2.4GHz systems are the hottest category in R/C, and Futaba is once again at the forefront with three new module/receiver sets. These modules are designed to work with existing Futaba radios, so your customers can simply plug them in and start enjoying all of the benefits that spread spectrum technology has to offer, without having to invest in a new transmitter! No other manufacturer understands 2.4GHz as well as Futaba, who has the experience and expertise to develop hobby-specific components that are unmatched in performance and reliability.

The advantages of FASSTTM Futaba 2.4GHz systems:

Constant Channel Shifting
Other 2.4GHz systems hold firm to one or two frequencies, increasing the potential for interference. The frequency of Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems shift every 2 milliseconds, so there are no signal conflicts or interruptions — and no need for a frequency pin!

Pre-VisionTM Packet Screening Technology
2.4GHz FASST scans incoming data and applies sophisticated error correction techniques — resulting in a system that gives you a solid, impenetrable connection with your model.

Dual Antenna Diversity (DAD)
Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems seamlessly select the best reception between two receiver antennas, so there’s no loss of signal.
(R603FF receiver included with 3PM 2.4GHz does not offer DAD.)

100x Faster Antenna Switching
If the receiver notices a problem with the data coming into one antenna, it rapidly switches to the other, looking for the sharpest signal.
*Comparing the R606FS receiver to the AR6000 receiver.

Custom-Developed IC Chips
Futaba uses custom IC chips that have been designed specifically for radio-control — ensuring quality, reliability, and safety. This is why Futaba FASST systems are faster and more reliable than the competition.

Compact, “all-in-one” receivers
Futaba’s small, powerful 2.4GHz FASST R606FS and R607FS receivers for flight systems can control giant-scale models as easily as park flyers and weigh a scant 7 grams without case. Full-range systems from other manufacturers include a bigger, two-piece receiver, and you must purchase a smaller park flyer receiver separately.
Over 2x Less Minimum Latency
Latency is the elapsed time between your movement of the transmitter controls and servo response. In Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems, that response can happen over twice as fast — so you feel less like you’re “out in front” leading your model, and more like you’re inside driving or flying it.
*When comparing the 6EX FASST system to the DX7.

Easy Link TM
Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems leave the factory already linked to the receiver code. Once linked the receiver will recognize and respond ONLY to that transmitter. Binding more receivers is not a problem — the linking process is simple...just push a button on the receiver.

Features:

New design for cleaner, safer, and secure installation –
Unlike other modules, Futaba’s FASST System modules don’t have external wires that can get in the way of the transmitter, or possibly get pulled out or disconnected.

One-piece receiver – for easier installation –
The R606FS and R607FS are small enough to use with park flyers, but powerful enough to easily control giant-scale planes, Futaba’s line of 2.4GHz receivers is truly state of the art. In addition to not requiring a second receiver for park flyers, Futaba’s receivers boast higher sensitivity for less unwanted interference.

Quick and easy to use -
No need to screw or clamp pieces to the Futaba units. Simply plug them in and fly!

Works with existing Futaba radios –
TM-7: 7-Channel Module and R607FS 7-Channel Receiver
Designed for the Futaba 9C radio, but also works with the 8U, 7U, and 9Z.
TM-8: 8-Channel Module and R608FS 8-Channel Receiver
Works with the 9C and 9Z systems, as well as 8U and 7U.
TM-14: 14-Channel Module and R6014FS 14-Channel Receiver
Fits the 14MZ, 12Z, and the NEW 12FG radio.
*Capable of using all 14 channels with Futaba Module/Receiver set

Sweet I do not have to buy a new radio right away!

At least theres no dorky pigtail on the modules, I like how Futaba put strain reliefs on the Rx anttenas......hint hint.

This rocks! Looking forward to trying on on my 12.

Woooo Hoooohooy

Now I am starting to drool.

Now if I can just get to hold one in my grubby little mitts, plug it in and see it work, then I will believe it is here.

I am not sure how this will work out for those of you with a 9 channel and having to lose 1 channel?
But it sure looks like they took care of us 12-14 owners.

Anyone know what the significance of the France vs General setting?

It is my understanding that France has a "lower emissions" ruling as compared to other countries...

you may correct me if I'm wrong

Awesome news. Still wonder if the plug in modules will have more latency than the new FG radio.

That is correct... fortunately that's only applicable over there... therefore we might benefit from a more reliable transmission system

i heard that in Belgium the spectrum freq. is not allowed, anyone have some more info over this?

That's not what I've heard... info from AAM people :)

But what is the immediate benefit over the 2048PCM of the T14MZ?
(apart from having additional frequencies)

Being able to fly without the worry of being shot down.

now we 12/14 owners with $2000+ helis don't have to worry about WHILE flying, someone comes along and throws out his $200 plank switchs on and shoots my heli down.. and then says, oh well it happens and drives away :bomb: coz it happend to us and I wouldn't want this kind of crash happen to me.

I had exactly that happen 3 times... except in my case the dudes took responsibility and paid for the damage (al 3 times). I still NEEED this module though... luckily for me it's going to be available in a couple of months and I wil get the first one in our little country

I also ordered the 6 2.4ghz tranny from Futaba to try it out and fly the T-rex 450SE with.

This module better be good!!

Cheers,

Richard

Yes, part of the bandwith is limited to 10mW of RF power in France (and the rest is allowed at 100 mW)

We all wonder why ;o)

is this system going to improve glitch resistance?

It will reduce or eliminate some forms of interference, The jury is still out on others.

does the antenna mount off to the side on the 14????? that tm14 looks funny or is it just me??

Antenna mounts slightly to one side and appears to fold down between tx body and handle. Better idea than the dx6 ive been using.

How about the problem with a tail heavy radio without the antenna fully extended?
I found this thread and it's a nice solution.

Is there anyone making these or something similar and selling them?

I found this one but it's for the DX7...
