Hi Guys,
Have any of you flow, or got a Stratus in your fleet as well as an N9? I was interested in a comparison of how they perform.
I've had a Stratus since last summer and due the high post crash rebuild costs have been very cautious in my flying. I love the Stratus but am wondering whether an N9 or two may be the way forward.
I currently fly a Raptor 50V2 as well, and find that it flys so differently to the Stratus that I always take a step back each time I get back onto the 90.
There are so may options. i.e./// Trade in the Raptor 50 for a MA Nitro 'Razor' when they come out ///- Just sell both and buy 2 N9's...../// and of course keep what I have but try liven up the Raptor to get it flying a bit more like the Stratus (although I've done just about all I can).
Anyone got any comments? Got a 50 and 90? Just got a couple of 90's.
Wish MA parts were cheaper in the UK. Sadly they are practically double Synergy spares prices!
Cheers.

I am still waiting on my Synergy flight but I doubt you could go wrong with either helicopter.

John,
Here is a link that may answer some of your questions.

Here is a USA price list of parts. But you would need to contact the UK dealers for price lists. The Synergy dealers are restricted and not allowed to sell outside their country or region.

Thanks guys.
A friend of mine just purchased two N9's after stuffing his Fury into the deck. If I'm lucky he may give me a go once he's set them up and completed the grieving process for the MA.
An N9 is at the top of my wish list at the moment. Love the Stratus, but hate the repair costs.
I had the pleasure of seeing every 90 type being flown by some of the world's best at last years 3D Masters, and the N9 seemed to rip up the skies as much as the next 90 (but is so much cheaper to repair than others).
Cheers.

The stratus frames are very thin I used to break them all the time even when it was a minor chrash...
The n9 frames are much tuffer.

i really would like some proof of that...
synergy frames are G10 not carbon, i have had both machines and can say the Stratus frame and frames are much stiffer than a Synergy.
this maybe just the case of how your crashes have happened, we have seen many of both mahcines go in here and the Stratus has come out about the same, neither seems to come off well when they hit the deck with the throtte open, does any machine ???

Stiff doesn't necessarily equate to tough. I don't know which is stronger, but having some give can be a good thing. Glass is stiffer than plastic but plastic holds up to abuse better.

Built my first of two Synergys. Did all the mods. Flew it yesterday for the second time. Very impressed.
She doesn't seem to like flying at 1500 headspeed at the moment i.e. she starts juddering in the hover. As soon as I raise the headspeed to 1600 rpm plus the judder goes. I did have max head damping and have now reduced it to Medium in the hope that it will reduce the judder (although I fly at 1700 plus normally anyway so its not really a problem).
Has anyone else had this?
I run a YS91 and have noticed some medium foaming from time to time as the flight progresses. I am using the Hyper hub and also dialled the starter shaft to less than 1 thou ". May take the engine out and check it again. Wonder if its related to my low speed judder in any way. Who knows.

All helis do this if the O Rings and washers make the head too tight. I run my N9 at 1900 so I use 0.80mm shim on each side with the hyper O rings. With the stock O rings I used the Med and Thick with good results.

You should also check the TT ends to make sure they are running true. This will also cause fuel shaking. I find that once the fuel is below 3/4 the tank won't foam no mater what rpm is used.

I have yet to break any skids and that is including 2 "unplanned" landings. Perhaps your just landing to hard on them.
