Man, I can't win - I just got rid of my futaba stuff and got a DX7. Guess I am with the DX7 until I hear some more about the new Futaba gear - but looks good,

i was going to get the 12z but now this looks like the radio for me. I hope you can use the same li-ion as the 12z/14mz because that will be good.

Have to understand. The 12 FG does not have some of the functions of the 12Z. So do a comparsion and see if the radio is what you want.
12FG uses a module just like the 12Z and 14MZ.

I may be looking to replace my 9303 with this radio. Can someone post the major differences between the 12FG and the 12Z?

The visible differences I can see. Two buttons on the 12Z that are not on the 12FG.
Those buttons on the 12Z allow to return to the previous menu or home page quickly. I am guess on the 12FG will have to scroll back thru each menu to get back to the previous point or home page.
I see no mention of the dual processor on the 12FG. So it may not have that either.
The 12Z uses a CF card. The 12FG uses a SD card. Swapping programming between the 12FG and 12Z/14MZ will require a card reader.
The 12FG is most likely not going to come with a carrying case. At least from the adds I have read. I have not seen a case mentioned in any of them.

Hadn't noticed that before. Also seems to be about 500-600 mah less than the 7.2 volt 2200 Li-ion battery that comes with the 12Z.
Another question would be if the battery in the 12FG is in the same case as 12Z/14MZ.
I don't think the battery in the FG would be same as the 12Z/14MZ. It takes at least 6 cells of nimh ( 1.2 volts) to make a 7.2 volt pack.

We are looking to upgrade to 2.4 gig and it looks like the 12 FG will be our choice over the DX7. Need to find more info on the programs the 12FG has. Will have to spend some time at the Futaba booth this weekend at the Toledo show and find out some details.

Hi Mongo!!! Thanks for the use of the laptop in Corpus to get our ESC dialed in!! It was great meeting you as well!
Looks like Chuck sold the 12Z but thanks for the info.
Jim....
I have the feeling a 12Z with the 2.4 module is going to be the radio to have.

This is why I kept my 12Z and I'm using the DX7 in the interim! :)

Ooops, you're right! I imagine the 2.4 version won't be far behind, though.
