I am about to buy new JR 6102 radio and I was wondering if I get the radio with the servos would they be small enough to replace my E-Flite servos in my CPP? I was going to buy just the radio w/o servos for my Trex450SE but then I thought maybe I could upgrade my CPP at the same time with the servos that I don't need for the Trex...

Which servos come with it? You need micro servos for the Blade.

BTW, I would seriously look at stepping up to the 7202 over the 6102.

Pinecone,
I'm not sure which servos come with it. I would hope that I could request micro servos. I will check. Now, why should I upgrade to the 7202 and do you know the cost difference? I picked the 6102 because my friend that is helping me set it up uses that same radio and he is very familiar with it and the 450SE.

Thanks, Ben

The programming between the 6102, 7202 (and the DX7) are all very similar. The 7202 and DX7 have a gyro menu that the 6102 does not. The 7202 and DX7 both hold 20 models instead of 10 with the 6102. The display is also a little nicer on the 7202 and DX7 because of a higher resolution screen.

I fly a spectrumized 6102 for all of my electrics and really like it. I thought about upgrading the the DX7, but I can't justify it since I already converted mine to spectrum and they both have the same options for programming (except the gyro menu). Mine came with micro servos. I used them for 6 months in my Trex and still use them today in my Mini Titan. I think they will fit the blade, but I can't say for sure because I never tried it.

BTW, I wouldn't reccomend the servos that come with it for The Trex or Mini Titan. I originally put them in my Rex because I didn't know better and in my Mini Titan because I have been buying too many other things to replace them.... If I ever crash and strip them. I will replace them with better servos.

You can get the 7202 with DS285 micro digital servos, that other than not having metal gears are nice servos.

7202 is also fully synthesized, so you can tune any Ch in and comes with a Scan Select Rx that also allows you to change channels at the field. The Micro Heli set comes with a PCM Rx (which is $90 new, about $75 on the used market).

7202 also has 3 flight modes, Normal, Stunt 1 and Stunt 2. The 6102 only has Normal and Stunt.

The programming on the 6102, 7202 and 9303 are very similar. I have both a 6102 and 9303 and the only downside I see to the 6102 and 7202 are the expo display is a bit funky compared to the 9303.

List is $320, but I have seen them cheaper. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRP7642
