Is there any info on the BT? Does the software run on a PDA?

Hi guys,
the BT module for the v-bar is great.
We have it since last week and don't want to miss it.
Software runs on PDAs.

Motions, There is a PDA version of the software as long as you have an Intel XScale PDA CPU.
I haven´t tried this tho, I run the software from my laptop.

I have 5 X-Scale PDAs just sitting doing nothing. Sounds like a very good use for them.

Hmm, I see now that XScale may not be Intel. Oh well...
You can download the PDA version of the software from http://www.vstabi.de/download/index.html to see if it works. Then of course you will need a VBar bluetooth unit to really use it.

You have any pictures of the BT unit? I'm curious about the size and weight.
Edit: Never mind, I checked the manual. This is obviously something you only connect during setup and not permanently mounted. I can see the advantage while at the field.

It's connected via the same connector as the USB interface so you could disconnect it between "sessions" sure. I am putting mine in a scale heli where it will be tricky to reach the VBar unit so the BT unit will be connected at all times.
Edit: When I first saw it at 3D Masters last year I think it was permanently connected because they only brought the laptop out to the heli to do some checking on it. I guess, as long as you wrap it in dampening foam it will be fine.

I tested it on an iPAQ 5500 and it worked fine. The English translation isn't all that great on some things.
I guess my V-bar cost just went up again. :wow2: Sticker shock.
I'll be using it in a scale also so it might be wise to use the BT.

I agree with You that the English translation isn't that good. I'm thinking of getting a German - Swedish technical dictionary to cope with it...
