The base for the washout control on the Mini-Titan is plastic, has no bushing, and is somewhat sloppy on the main shaft to begin with. The slop is transmitted up the washout control mixing arms and to the flybar.

Initially, I tried to replace the base with the metal Align TREX washout base, but the two rods coming down from the head-block are two widely spaced apart to engage the holes in the washout base. Plastichead had suggested the TREX washout base also.

I gave up for a while until the wear and slop in the washout base got to a point where it was no longer tolerable.

In the parts box, there was an old silver/gray plastic TREX washout base. It was still plastic, but it was new, and equipped with a brass sleeve/bushing. This washout base utilizes slots to engage the pins from the head-block, as opposed to holes, and fits the Mini quite well. The screw hole spacing is a bit different. Height is the same and the part fits perfectly.

I have installed the older TREX washout base with not problem. I have not had the opportunity to test fly it, but it did reduce the slop considerable. The flexing of the washout arms themselves still contributes to the problem. All bearings are cemented in.

I will report back when I test fly.
