View Full Version : Esky main gear and shaft on a Blade CP.
I am using a brushless motor on my blade and I stripped a few teeth on the main gear. Put in a new main gear, adjusted the gear mesh, spooled up and broke the main gear. Yep, that caused a brief wobble :) . I am going to try the Esky main gear and shaft and see how that works out. I was wondering if anyone else was using the Esky gear and shaft in a Blade CP frame.
Also, while I was looking around for gear replacements I saw this frame and was hoping some others had info on it.

Thanks. I obviously should have done a better job searching before posting (ie look at more than the titles) .
Here is the link.

That's the same frame you can use with the Compy 300. I think, only the tail block is different. Its a 12mm block for the Compy.

I should have posted the link for you. There's a ton of great stuff in here but its hard and tedious to search through the thousands of post in the blade section. Next time I'll post the link. I havent seen or heard of anyone actualy flying with that frame yet but it looks pretty sweet.

The ESky main shaft is taller. Your servo links may not make it.

There was a post on RunRyder where an extra bearing was used as a spacer on the bottom of the shaft to get the servo links to work. This should not be a problem as I have spacers between the motor and the frame to get the motor pinion at the right height for the stock main gear.

Or you could dremel it to length. Just my $.02. I use the dremel and cutting wheel on my CX2 with the microheli head and stock shafts.
