Hi all,
Tried desperately to get my 14MZ hooked up to the reflex sim - but in vain... :arggg: :arggg:
Used the Reflex on my 7CAP for a long time with no problems (although Reflex support says it won't work??), but when I hook up the 14MZ, Reflex goes berserk!
1) I start Reflex
2) Connect 14MZ via square Futaba cable/Dongle
3) 14MZ turns on by itself
4) Reflex start flipping
5) Constant message: TURN OFF YOUR TRANSMITTER
6) Impossible to shut down this message until I disconnect 14MZ
HEELP - What's wrong :dontknow --- I Need to flyyy!

Set the 14MZ to PPM mode before installing the trainer cord. Yes when you plug in the cord to the data port on the transmitter. The transmitter will come on if the cable is wired that way. That is the same way a DSC cable is wired.

David, sorry for the late reply. It can start the reflex, but any time I need to change from flying mode (on the field) to touch anything on the toolbar (simulation stop, calibration etc.) Reflex says "shut off your transmitter". Then I take out the cable and can go on as usual. BUT I need to plug out and plug in all the time and that's irritating.
As I said, works perfectly with my 7CAP.
Got any clues?

I have successfully used a 14MZ and a 12Z with all of the popular simulators. As David suggests, you should be absolutely sure that the transmitter is in PPM mode when using it with the simulator.

Since day 1 I'm using my 14MZ successfully with Reflex XTR :!:
As mentionned above PPM is compulsory as Reflex doesn't understand PCM
I would suggest to create a dedicated profile for XTR...

Thanks all - Dogg5306, I might just do that, however I've been running only PPM all along.

I'd the same problem.
I solved by cutting a connection in square Futaba plug.
The connection is for autostart in trainer function.
Sorry for my poor english.

Alfio, Okay - please specify exactly which connection from looking at the pins: i.e. top row, left, etc.

Hi
There is only one short in the plug; this enables the automatic start of the TX without RF-module. (used for trainer-function)
I do not think this short is the actual problem, because it is used in trainer mode and is exactly the same as on 9C and 7C radios.
However, there have been reported problems with that the short in the plug is poorly done and/or also other nearby pins have been shorted. -This would probably cause trouble. (also some have actually damaged the TX and then had to send it in to service due to short circuit in the plug)

Moved to the new Phoenix - uuuuhh - IT's just as good or even better than Reflex :glasses2:
The Reflex has been downgraded to be used with my 7CHP only - still can not connect the 14MZ :dontknow
