Hello,

I know almost everything about my heli but have ran into a problem and I just don't know what to do. (I am not bragging, I took it apart a few times and replaced some parts and I know how to set it up properly)

First off, I have a HoneyBee CP2. I replaced the frame and a servo today and have a small issue. After putting everything on the frame, the main gear rubs against the frame at the rear, where the tail boom connects.

There is no stress on the frame that would cause it to warp, but the shaft may be slightly bent. It does NOT rub against the front part, only the rear. I just switched out the parts from one broken frame to the new one. The old frame had no issue like this.

Now what I want to know is, should I just modify the frame slighty, or is there another way?

Thank you for any information you could provide.

EDIT:
I moved the main gear 180* on the main shaft. The reasoning behind it was maybe the gear was warped or the very end of the main shaft was bent in that direction. It did not help. Still rubs at the rear of the frame.

Can you post a picture? If the mainshaft and gear run true, it is a warped frame. In which case might as well grind some material off since you will inevitably change it. Or you can use a spacer that rests on the inner bearing race to lower the main gear. You may need to pull the punion out a bit. Use a gear puller.

Ya, the frame is warped. Let me think about which idea to try. I may just use a spacer and then lower the pinion a bit. I will post back when I figure out something.

Ok. I ended up getting out the Dremel and just sanding that area down slightly. Works great and I only had to take a tiny bit off. But of course that prolly made the frame much weaker at that point.
