I have RF G3.5 & for some reason, no matter what I do, I can't get shadows... Makes it a little strange for landing or low hovering.
Actually at this point, I'm kind of annoyed by it.
What can I do to get shadows to show up?
Thanks for the input.

In the simulation pull down menu, click on settings. Click the + sign next to graphics and then click on quality. It will give you a list of various settings, including the choice to enable shadows.
I think that RF G3.5 automatically chooses the optimal settings after detecting what graphics card you have installed. It may have disabled them for performance reasons as enabling the shadows slows down the frame rate significantly. If this happens, you can change the shadow quality in this same list of settings, lower quality=faster frame rate. You can view the frame rate by selecting navguides from the gadgets pull down menu. I think I remember seeing a post here that said that you want a frame rate of at least 30fps for the sim to fly smoothly and realistically. If you can't achieve this w/ shadows enabled, you might want to consider upgrading your graphics card.

Your video card may not be able to do shadowing, My built in one did not do them so I installed a new one that does.

I have the same problem. I have every setting set to the highest available and it still runs very smooth with a great framerate. Only problem is the missing shadows!! And as Stevejr points out, it's really hard to make smooth landings.
