Hi,

My E325 is now up and hovering which is great!!!! Bit by bit I’ve been making improvement to the setup as I’ve read articles on Helifreak.

An area that still needs a bit of attention is the tail setup. The heli hovers nose right, tail left, even when I trim the rudder.

The tail is holding nice and steady without any wag or vibration after I reset the gyro and greased the tail mechanism.

Any ideas how I can solve the nose right problem?

Also, how do I go about setting the rudder endpoints. With the other servos I go into my Futaba FF7 endpoint menu and set them. I’ve read that I shouldn’t set endpoints with the rudder servo and a gyro, so how do I set it?

Futaba FF7
Saturn digital tail servo S620
Airtrix A500-G Gyro

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Peter,

I'm not an expert yet, but i did set up the mini titans tail on a FF8.
I had a endpoint problem on the rudder channel.
Installed my GY401 and a FS 61 BB speed cool servo, and then i noticed that my stick had more travel than the servo, so i ended up with pretty big deadzones at the endpoints (can somebody please tell me what's the problem here, do i make a real Newbie mistake???).
I maxed out the limit on the GY401 first and had to adjust my end points to 70% on the Tx to get full servo action on my rudder stick.

after that i centered the tailslider on the tailshaft by moving the servobracket on the boom and used the limit pot on the Gyro to make sure the slider was not binding in both directions, so it doesn't hit the endpoints on the tailshaft.
All this is done with a inactive (normal mode) gyro.
When i fly it's always in HH mode btw.
I read that moving the trim after initialisation of the gyro moves the neutral position of the gyro and can give problems during flight, it's better not to use the trim after initialisation.
I understood It's better to reinitialise the gyro by putting the heli down and switch it off/on again.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Had my maiden flight today with this setup and heli :glasses2: .
And the tail was Rocksolid.
The heli needs more headspeed (started with very low throttle curves)and better Lipo's to make it even more stable imo.
So i have to open the wallet again...
Have bought one flightpower Evo25 2175 mah, hope that was a good investment :).

This is a very forgiving heli compared to my walkera DF60.
A world of difference!!!
Have never tried a T-rex, but for a beginner this is a fantastic heli.
It's dark outside now...Can't wait to fly again!!
Love it, really love it :D
