Hehe ya that Vibe, that should shake up the 50 market a bit.
Our LHS has an airskipper on the shelf, I keep trying to talk him into letting me build it and him selling it ready to go just so I can tinker with one.

Looks like it is gonna be a while but having it be an electric or a nitro is a neat option.

Hi there :)
i bought an AS .50 CE recently,
the CE is a "bling" kit, with metal head and tail parts plus the AS 90's tail case, and carbon boom.
i have to break in the Hyper this weekend so don't know how it fly(better than my rappy i hope:)
so keep in touch :D

Let me tell you, and in all fairness to the airskipper it may be a great piece of machinery, that Raptors are VERY popular, well supported by parts and upgrades (anyone with a cnc mill makes upgrades for the darn things) and a step by step help is available at http://www.raptortechnique.com so you can always get help, they have a fairly low parts count and are easy to work on. If you are starting out the wealth of information and high parts availability combined with fairly cheap parts price is a hard combo to overlook.

Hi there "freaks"
so engine broken in today, maiden flight done, here is my report :)
initials impression:
no vibrations, the tracking was spot on,and only 3 beeps of trim on the cyclic were required :)
i spent several tanks hovering around the patch, testing the cyclic(+/-8°) and pitch(+/-12°) response.
the cyclic was good, pitch was fantastic!
At this point i increased the rpm to +/-1850 further enhancing the pitch and giving a better cyclic response too.
Even at this higher head speed, the model felt remarkably locked in and not at all twitchy.
I exercised some pitch pumping climb outs, hovering rolls, hovering pirouettes, forward and back flips(can't do anything else :( sorry
in all manouvers the machine handled itself with ease and felt predictable:)
so i like it very much :clappp

Hey so whats the difference between an airskipper and the new Vibe 50? Is the Vibe platform that much better than the airskipper?

I am flying AS 50 . It is a nice helicopter . Flys great . Very smooth , stable , fast in forward flight . But the stock version has a known tracking problem . Blades always go out of track . If you grease the stock dampers you can fly 2 or 3 flights without having any problem . Anyway, you need to use harder head dampers if you buy the Airskipper 50. I haven't tried this upgrade yet . But ordered aluminum head conversion and 75 durometer dampers (these are the hardest ones on the market) . I hope problem will be cured after installing the head and dampers .
