Hi,
How can I choose the right motor?
Step 1: I choose the number of cells,
Step 2: I choose the RPM of the rotor that I want obtain,
Step 3: I choose the Kv (RPM/Volt) of the motor and the right reduction ratio; for this choise: it is better to choose a low Kv and a low ratio or an high Kv with an high ratio; both solutions are good to achieve the same RPM… but which solution is more efficient?
An actual example:
Hirobo Lepton EX
No.of Cells 5S
(solution 1)
Motor Hacker A30-XL-08 (Kv 1100)
Gear-Ratio 94/16
RPM max 3200
(solution 2)
Motore Hacker A30-XL-12 (Kv 700)
Gear-Ratio 94/25
RPM max 3200
Which is the criterion for the best choise?
