OK, I'm putting my Swift together and after installing the grips to the feathering shaft, I have a small (.060"?) amount of end play when moving the grips toward and away from the hub. Is this normal? I'm following Bob's videos and I don't see any mention of this. TIA.

I'm putting together a Swift also, except mines the ARF version. I just checked the end play on the grips on mine and there is no play. I'm not sure what's wrong with yours, but I'd thought I let you know how mine was.

No movement on mine when pushed into the hub or pulled out.

I guess I'll disassemble it this weekend and see what I've left out of the grips. Am I correct in thinking that the grips are actually supposed to compress the dampers somewhat, i.e. dampening the blade rotations? I was about to install the mainshaft into the frame/bearings and find that the kit was short the main drive gear, so now I have to figure where I'll have to get that. I've ordered one form Tower to get going, but I'd like for the dealer or Century to supply the one that was short.

Checkout Finless Bob's Swift build for the correct way to do the head and all the rest of the Swift.
