this may sound dum ---but how can you tell if a ball joint is to tight?
replacing some head pieces after a chrash and new pitch control links are
tight and i mean tight. and way to open the up a bit?

A properly sized ball link should fall under it's own weight when attached to a ball - with no slop.

To size 'em, either pick up a ball link sizer or go the cheap bastard route and pick up a pair of smooth jawed pliers...

Connect the ball link, then gently squeeze the link with the pliers and check the fit.. Repeat if it's still to tight. If you squeeze too hard, you'll deform and possibly break the link. The key is to squeeze JUST hard enough to loosen the ball up, but not have it get sloppy.

Nope... I asked the same question a while back for a 3.5 mm sizer.

The best that anyone could offer was to find a metal ball for that size, then use a pair of pliers to put a cut into the metal ball. Then use THAT to size the links.

You can get ball link sizers at some hobby stores, Heli guys use them alot, they are adjustable to fit different size ball links.

looks like more than just me looking for a sizer
any one know of one to fit 3.33mm to 3.50mm?
name brand or part no.?

Smooth jaw pliers.... Available at any hardware store and they work great...
