Sounds like your battery is new and needs to be charged.

Either what Jermo said or your radio is not functioning. Last time I had a problem like that my RX crystal was bad.

Thanks guys,I tried the crystal on another bird and it seems to work fine. The battery is the one that came with my radio and receiver and I did charge it but I guess it could still have an issue. From watching FInless's video it look like he plugged the battery into the last slot on the receiver to test the servers so that is what I am trying.I guess I could plug the main battery in with the rex latched down,in case it tried to spin up,does that sound reasonable or is there another way to test the servos? Thanks in advance for any help.

You can just inplug the motor from the speed controller to be safest. You wont hear any beeps when you do this as the motor is where the speed controller beeps come from.

You have a 7chp which defaults a new model to PCM modulation and you are using a PPM reciever, did you set the modulation type to F in the parameter menu for that model AND cycle transmitter power? Also if you have a model with PCM selected and you select a model with ppm modulation you have to power cycle the transmitter to commit the change.

Thanks for your reply I will take a look at the model settings in the 7chp,excuse the delayed reply I have been out of pocket.
