Guys,

For anyone that hasn't already seen it, ScaleRCHelis.com was hacked last week and completely taken down, all content deleted. Chris is still in the process of trying to get the site back up but he is running into a lot of issues in his patch. It will be back online as fast as possible but I am out of town on emergency business and Chris is swamped as well.

I was afraid of that when I couldn't get on for so long. :cuss

Sorry that crap had to happen to something that's fun. :(

Dang Dan, that is a mess.... I wish folks with the kind of intellegence it takes to hack a site, would put there smarts to the betterment of society instead of trying to destroy peoples enjoyment.

I really like the ScaleRCHelis.com and hope it will come back stronger than ever.

And to the hackers that did this...... :shakeit KMA !

Sorry to hear that Dan. Looks like a lot of phpBB sites were hacked lately over this SQL Injection vulnerability. We are very sorry to hear you were one of them. If you need help with your backup strategy, PM retorq here on HF. He is who setup us. We backup every 15 minutes to a text database dump file that is FTP'd and rsync'd to a few different servers. Works pretty good so far when we needed it.

We have seen logs ourselves here at HF indicating that we REALLY need to keep up with the phpBB security patches. A few trolls don't respect their fellow flyers and want to spoil things for everybody. My bet is they really don't fly and are just around to cause trouble.

Looks like its back up? I was on it this morning, looked okay, although i don't know if ALL the content is back? Sorry to hear it though.

They are back. Looks like we needed our backups ourselves yesterday because we got hacked to. It is very sad that some people have nothing better to do than to maliciously attack R/C Helicopter Resource sites.... I don't get it.

On the plus side, Chris and Mike at ScaleRCHelis.com and us here at HeliFreak.com are learning how to protect ourselves better by bad experience and how to ensure we are very well backed up.
