Default Spindle tool

Was regreasing the thrust bearings on my blade grips last night and man what a pain it was to remove the second screw from the spindle, any of you guys have any recommendations as far as a good tool to prevent your spindle from getting all scratched up. Also wondering if using blue locktite is enough to keep them in place. Thanks in advance

Tiny visegrips and wrap the spindle with a cloth or several
layers of paper napkin. I adjust the visegrips from a looser grip
to a tighter grip if necessary, always mindful of biting throo the
cloth/paper towel and damaging the shaft.
And if it's bent, then who cares.
I think most people prefer red Ltite on the spindle shaft.

I get one grip off then pull the spindle out and hold it in the middle with pliers to get the second bolt out. I don't care much if I scratch it with pliers because that section is in the middle of the head anyways. I will smooth out any rough scratches though before sliding it through the dampers and sleeve.

Any guesses as to what this tool looks like?
Sounds interesting. What kind of tool can grip a totally round
thing and keep it from rotating? Besides vise grips which I
hate resorting to.

Maybe kindasorta like this?

I found one of these in the LHS and bought it,

I'd make some of the flat ones that titgeten with the allen but I'd probable get sued since someone probably has a pattent on it. I do know where there is some aluminum stock, a few 6mm drill bits and a milling machine ;-)

Guys, just use the chuck of your trusty drill. Works perfect. Will not mar the spindle.
