A few people had problems with them in Raptor 50s. Many people flying them in T600s, various airplanes, etc. with no issues. Also, seems some folks may have used loctite... which should NEVER be used on plastic as it can make it brittle.

I've seen dozens (if not more) of the Spektrum DS821 servo in various birds at our field. No issues.

Based on reports, I wouldn't.

Sell them? Lots of folks buying DX7s are selling the servos.

I was wondering the same thing ,are theservos breaking on the raptor 50's or unable to handle the controls? My friend bought a 50 and I was going so swap him my dx-7 servos so he could start seting it up, but this is the first time I heard not to use them.

Order the radio from espritmodels.com and you do not have to get the servos. $267 for DX-7 with AR6100 and $296 for DX-7 with AR7000.

OOOPS :arggg: .... I see you are from UK ..... and I hear shipping from the US is costly with customs and such!

Jeffs450SE ..... the DX-7 DS821 servos can be upgraded to metal gears I am told.

Hughes500bob, IS that the troubke with the servo's, the gears strip out?

I need the small servos that come with the dx6 , my buddy has those so I figured we'd swap . I just don't want himto have trouble with the 821's, thanks for the input.
