Hope this is salvageable. Here is the deal: Align 6s1p 4600 W/ only seven cycles...

I ran this battery today for one flight. I did not over discharge. There is no puff, and it never got that warm.

Upon hooking up to the TP 1010/210, it was out of balance by about 0.21 from high to low. The balancer was lit up like a Christmas tree, working on 5 out of 6 cells. TWO hours later, it finally balanced, and I was able to charge. It charged normally, charging to 95%.

I took it up for another flight, and SAME THING happens. :bomb:

Back at the house, after two hours of balancing, I stick it back on the charger. It runs up to about 85% and the overcharge alarm goes off. Cell three is running away ahead of the other cells again. The balancer brings it back down, and charging continues for a few minutes, then the alarm goes off again. The battery is at about a 90% charge... Sitting outside for the night.

I am at a loss. Is this thing toast, or is there a way to get it back to normal??? :dontknow

I know the align batteries aren't the greatest for staying in balance but that seems a bit extreme. You could try cycling the battery and charging at a lower charge rate. Worth a go at least :dontknow

True... This was my backup plan when I went to bed last night. When I set it outside, it was balanced, at about 90% charge. When I hooked it back up to the balancer this morning, it needed to balance again, but just a bit.

I hooked it back up to the charger, and it took 100% at .5 . Time will tell. I'll run it again at the park in a day or two and see what happens. It's only a month old, and this one has never been over discharged. I'll call Align USA and test their warranty if it acts up again. Lets see how Align handles this issue. Hopefully it will be like Thunder Power or Flight Power in this Dept... :dontknow

I think sometimes with a newer battery you have to *CRAM* the amps into some of the cells. The best way is to do what you did, balance, and charge at a really low rate while balancing thru the 210 linked to the TP1010.

I know it is frustrating, but I have gone thru the same thing a couple of times. Just thought I'd let you know there are others that have had the same problem.... :?

Could be the cells internal resistance do not match. This is one of the problems with lower quality packs. If that is the case the cells will discharge at diffrent rates causing your problem.
The pack matching that the better companies like Flightpower does prevents that sort of thing.
Hopefully they will take care of it for you.
